Lochlea Distillery releases first Single Malt in November

The Lowland distillery, which has been distilling since August 2018, will bring the first single malt in a few weeks - and its standard in early 2022.

The date has now been set: 7,000 bottles of the first product will be released at the beginning of November. 3,500 of these bottles are intended for the UK market, with the remainder being shipped to the US and Europe, in a total of 10 markets.


The new Lochlea Single Malt, which came into the barrels from August 2018, has an ABV of 46%. are bottled, and matured in a mixture of bourbon casks and former PX sherry casks. It was composed by Master Distlller Malcom Rennie, who previously worked for Kilchoman, Bruichladdich and Ardbeg. The regular retail price of the first edition: 50 pounds, approx. 60 euros.


The distillery's standard bottling is still scheduled to appear at the beginning of 2022 - and its taste will differ from the first edition.
