Loch Lomond is releasing two new limited releases for The Open Golf Championship

The two new bottlings were launched on the occasion of the 150th Open and each received a finish in French red wine barrels.

The Loch Lomond distillery has been the official partner of the Open Golf Championship for a number of years and there will be special whiskeys for this year as well. Yesterday the two bottlings were announced and these are the dates:

For the 150th Open, which will be played in St. Andrews this July, there is Loch Lomond The Open Course Edition 2022 (48.2% ABV), a 22-year-old single malt that was first aged in American oak, before being finished for 4 years in barriques with a pre-assignment of Haut-Médoc Claret, a French red wine. It will be available around £225.

The Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition 2022 (46% ABV) will cost £45 and was bottled with no age statement. It too first matured in bourbon barrels and was then finished in Bordeaux barriques. It was created in partnership with golf legend Colin Montgomerie, who co-designed this bottling with Master Blender Michael Hendry.

Both bottlings will probably also be available in Germany and Austria - the prices for them will be based on British prices.
